The concept

We embarked on crafting a brand that embodied the playful spirit of monkeys, our closest evolutionary ancestors. This playful theme resonated with both adults seeking a touch of whimsy and children drawn to vibrant characters. We utilized a bold colour palette and a dynamic monkey mascot to create a visually engaging identity.

The problem

DDM, a new streetwear brand, needed a unique identity that resonated with a broad audience. Their clothing, available in other stores and with a planned kidswear line, had to appeal to both fashion-forward adults and playful youngsters. This presented a challenge: creating a brand identity that resonated with both streetwear enthusiasts and a younger audience, avoiding a look that was overly mature or childish.

We developed a vibrant brand identity centred around the playful yet sophisticated image of the monkey. We embraced the inherent duality of the monkey – a symbol of youthful energy and, as our ancestors, a connection to human evolution, perfectly aligning with the streetwear aesthetic. This versatile mascot could be easily adapted for both adult and kid-focused collections.

 "Welcome to the Dynamic World of Monkeys!" - DDM transcends a clothing brand; it's a thriving community. The playful branding, featuring monkeys and a spectrum of bold colours, invites individuals of all ages to express themselves through fashion. Inspired by the way monkeys connect through interaction, DDM fosters a space for self-expression and connection through the universal language of style. DDM becomes a haven for the "suave and fashion-forward," where high-quality garments meet individual personalities.

To millennials and Generation Z, socially responsible companies are even more important. They believe companies should invest in improving society and look for solutions that assist in those improvements.Companies should share how they are trying to make a positive impact on the world, so the public can see their pro-social initiatives. Showcasing efforts is key so it’s important to learn how to market to millennials because these efforts will sway the choices they make as consumers.Millennials also like to take part in initiatives such as volunteer work or making donations. As ever more companies begin to see the impact their socially and environmentally conscious efforts have on a consumer’s perception, the more chance there is that they will begin initiatives.
